PURPOSE:  TO RECRUIT TEAM PLAYERS, WHO ENJOY WORKING WITH PEOPLE AND WHO HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

 

LOCATION:  Navy Gateway Inn's & Suites, Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, Mississippi.

 

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:  Current NAF employee of CBC, Gulfport and other Navy and Marine Corps activities and through the voluntary application file.  Vacancies may be filled by methods other than promotions when the best qualified person can be obtained from other sources

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Ensure security of all guests is maintained at all times. Ensure guest privacy is maintained at all times. Must possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude.  Demonstrate effective communication skills; professionally interact with guests; answering guest questions concerning hotel facilities; and provide information about local attractions. Provide assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary. Performs daily housekeeping duties as required checking condition of room assets and reporting problems to supervisor or designated representative; and responding to guest requests and communications. Upon checkout, completes all daily cleaning duties. Count and sort linen Completes room status report providing status of all assigned rooms (vacant, ready, checkout, occupied) and turns in report at end of each day.  Perform deep cleaning as required.  Report to supervisor and water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:  MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT- DAY/WEEKEND/HOLIDAYS

Must possess basic abilities and knowledge (which generally require no previous work experience or training) to read signs and follow simple oral or written instructions.  Must be able to work safely.  Must be able to use common cleaning tools and vacuum cleaners.  Must have the ability to learn to operate powered waxers or buffers.  This position is subject to completion of a satisfactory background or National Agency Check (NAC) in accordance with CNI policy.

 

VETERAN’S PREFERENCE:  Qualifying veterans must submit a copy of their DD-214 with their application for employment.

 

SPOUSAL PREFERENCE: The time period of eligibility for spousal preference begins 30 days before the military member's reporting date at a new duty station outside of the current duty station's commuting area and applies without time restriction except that spouses seeking preference with less than six months’ time remaining in the area may be non-selected. Spousal Preference forms are located in the lobby at the MWR Admin. Bldg. 352.  You MUST attach spouse’s orders. You MUST be referenced (family) on the orders.
